Plaslantic is a medium-sized private company. We started production in February 2014 at our facilities in Blackheath, Cape Town. We currently operate two Welex sheet extrusion lines comprising four extruders. Accurate and consistent thickness control is ensured by the use of an NDC thickness measuring system installed on each line.
We recently bought a microcell foam extrusion system from Promix (Switzerland) and plan to install it during the second half of 2023. The foaming will be done using nitrogen gas and the target is to reduce the density of our sheeting by up to 20%, reducing both the cost to our customers and the environmental footprint of our sheeting.
Due to excessive rolling black-outs since September 2022, we bought two generators, enabling is to continue to work 24/7.
